AAJA-MN offers a $1,000 scholarship through the University of Minnesota. The aid can be used to defray the costs of internships, schooling or training opportunities.

Internships
We also offer paid, seven-week newspaper, radio and local television internships. Past AAJA-MN interns have worked at the Minneapolis Star Tribune, the St. Paul Pioneer Press, the Asian American Press and FOX 9 News.
Application deadlines:
Spring internship: Oct. 31
Summer internship: Jan. 31
Fall internship: June 31

Grants
UPDATE FOR 2016: AAJA-MN is now offering grants of up to $300 to attend the national convention in Las Vegas. Deadline: July 1.
Grants are offered each year to help pay for training opportunities or to help defray the costs of attending the national AAJA or Unity conventions.
The chapter can award Executive Leadership Program grants of up to $1,000 and other grants of up to $250.
For convention grants, applicants who submit their forms by the early registration deadline will be eligible for $250 grants. Those who submit their applications by the pre-registration deadline will be eligible for $200 grants.
Anyone who submits an application up to one week before convention or a training program will be eligible for $150 grants.
Applications received less than one week before a professional development program or convention will not be considered.
