AAJA-MN/MPR TRAVEL SCHOLAR
The Minnesota chapter of the Asian American Journalists Association, in partnership with Minnesota Public Radio, is thrilled to announce an exclusive opportunity for one AAJA-MN member to have an all-expenses paid trip to travel to Washington, D.C., with MPR new veteran Gary Eichten, as an MPR Custom Travel Scholar March 19 – 24, 2014!
This professional development opportunity is designed to give an AAJA-MN member the opportunity to experience a news junkie’s dream trip to D.C. with an itinerary full of news, media and cultural activities including a private tour of NPR headquarters, an exclusive interview with veteran journalist Cokie Roberts just for our group, and a private reception with the Minnesota delegation at the U.S. Capitol. The selected journalist will travel at no expense, stay in five-star accommodations and receive a $1,000 stipend. The full trip itinerary is at mpr.org/travel.
The Travel Scholar will enrich the trip by:
· Creating unique ways to bring the trip’s subject matter back to their community
· Creating engaging activities for fellow travelers focusing on Washington politics and media
· Managing a trip group Facebook page
· Supporting the trip host with subject matter research
· Digitally capturing fellow travelers throughout the trip
